Al mismo tiempo, los resultados resaltan la importancia de considerar la presencia de mercurio, vinculados en gran medida a las actividades mineras, en el marco de una gesti\u00f3n adecuada del consumo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n fue desarrollada por un equipo de cient\u00edficos bolivianos en colaboraci\u00f3n con <em>Wildlife Conservation Society<\/em> (WCS-Bolivia) y cont\u00f3 con el financiamiento del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos. En este estudio participaron Mauricio&nbsp;Pe\u00f1arrieta&nbsp; del Instituto de Investigaciones Qu\u00edmicas y &nbsp;Dar\u00edo&nbsp;Ach\u00e1&nbsp;del Instituto de Ecolog\u00eda, ambos de la Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s, Guido Miranda-Chumacero (WCS-Bolivia) y &nbsp;Erick Loayza de la Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca. Los resultados fueron publicados en la Revista de Composici\u00f3n y An\u00e1lisis de Alimentos &#8211; <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/journal\/journal-of-food-composition-and-analysis\">Journal of Food Composition and Analysis<\/a><\/em> &nbsp;(volumen 150, diciembre del 2025), editado por Elsevier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio se llev\u00f3 a cabo en Rurrenabaque, en la cuenca del r\u00edo Beni, una regi\u00f3n de alta biodiversidad que abastece d pescado amaz\u00f3nico a la regi\u00f3n y distintas ciudades del pa\u00eds, incluyendo La Paz. El Blanquillo (<em>Calophysus macropterus<\/em>) present\u00f3 las concentraciones m\u00e1s elevadas (1,9 \u00b1 1,0 ppm), mientras que el surub\u00ed (<em>Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum<\/em>), el pantal\u00f3n (<em>Sorubimichthys planiceps<\/em>) y la corvina (<em>Plagioscion squamosissimus<\/em>) presentaron concentraciones intermedias, aunque por encima de la norma europea (>0.5 ppm). Por otro lado, las especies como el paiche (<em>Arapaima gigas<\/em>), el pac\u00fa (<em>Piaractus brachypomus<\/em>), el tambaqu\u00ed (<em>Colossoma macropomum<\/em>) y la yatorana (<em>Brycon amazonicus<\/em>) registraron concentraciones bajas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En t\u00e9rminos generales, aproximadamente la mitad de las especies evaluadas present\u00f3 valores medios por encima del umbral de referencia de 0,5 mg\/kg establecido por la Uni\u00f3n Europea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde el punto de vista nutricional, las especies con menores concentraciones de mercurio tambi\u00e9n destacan por su aporte de nutrientes esenciales, lo que refuerza el papel del pescado como componente fundamental de la dieta en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio sugiere que, m\u00e1s que restringir el consumo general del pescado amaz\u00f3nico, es recomendable promover una selecci\u00f3n informada de especies. En este sentido, recomienda eliminar el consumo de especies con altas concentraciones como el blanquillo, que adem\u00e1s no aportar muchos nutrientes esenciales, mientras que otras especies como el surub\u00ed y la corvina todav\u00eda pueden formar parte de la dieta, aunque con menor frecuencia.
